For our client, world leader within sonar technology – Teledyne RESON Marine, HEGSØ is looking for a Senior System/Hardware Engineer.

Teledyne Marine is a world leader in supplying high-quality underwater acoustic solutions, underwater autonomous vehicles, navigation systems and software with global presence and service facilities around the world. In the European part of Teledyne Marine, we are specialized in design, development, manufacturing, marketing and commissioning of advanced Multibeam sonar systems, Inertial Navigation Systems with Fiber Optic Gyro’s and software to manage sensors and systems and perform data processing. We operate in the hydrographic, offshore, dredging, defense & security and marine research business areas.
Task:
As Teledyne RESON’s new Senior System/Hardware Engineer, you will be part of the Technology and Products department. The group cooperates in defining, developing, testing, production readying and handover to production engineering of new products for numerous product lines.
Our products consist of real-time Single- and Multi-beam Sonar Systems, Inertial Navigation System and related products. Key parts are advanced sensors, low noise analog electronics, high power output stages and high data throughput digital electronics. The use of newest technologies continuously raise product performance. The product lines span from low power products for autonomous vehicles to high performance systems on research vessels.
Your focus will be product system development including hardware, firmware and software codesign. This will be mixed with technical design lead of primarily hardware and secondary firmware functionalities.
We have our own development facilities (e.g. mechanical workshop, SMD machines, 3D printer, electronic lab and integration area, environmental test facilities, survey boat located in Frederiksværk) and a hands-on attitude.
Core competencies:
- Excellent theoretical and practical understanding and experience with challenging analog electronic developments
- Experience in analysis of signal conditioning, electrical noise and EMC, design of pre-amplifiers, ADC selection and evaluation, analog filter analysis and design
- Ability to design and implement state-of-the-art high performant analog and digital circuits as part of amplifiers and receivers
- Co-operation and people skills
- Follow-up mind-set
Key responsibilities:
- Technically own and drive development of a number of products
- Define, design and breakdown new products to be developed and technically manage the corresponding implementation and verification activities
- Handle specific hardware and system implementation activities related to digital hardware with some VHDL, analog hardware and embedded and application software
- Be a mentor for other electronic developers due to your extended knowledge and experience
- Maintain and continuously improve already existing designs
- Support the continuous production of designs that you ‘own’
Practical experience:
- Knowledgeable in analogue circuitry modeling (e.g. using LTSpice or equivalent)
- Ability to analyze, design, implement and test complete end-to-end amplifiers and receivers in both analog and digital domain including performing design tradeoffs on e.g. cost, performance, thermal and maintainability
- Experience in using tools supporting system development – debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes
- Experience in analog and digital design
- Experience in analysis of signal conditioning, electrical noise and EMC, design of pre-amplifiers, ADC selection and evaluation, analog filter analysis and design
- Good understanding of PCB design, manufacturing and test
- Ability to write low level software and firmware to test hw
Educational level:
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering.
Language:
You are fluent in English in writing and speaking.
Other relevant Information:
- Job position is in Slangerup, Denmark
- The job is expected to require a few days of travel each year
- The job may require participation in system test campaigns onboard our own or customers survey boats
