Job Summary:
As Teledyne RESON Mechanical Engineer, you will be working close with a team of experienced mechanical engineers with a wide range of design tasks including transducer- and hydrophone arrays for sonars and construction of electronics housing for sonars or navigation instruments operating on surface vessels or subsea drone vehicles.
Teledyne RESON develops high performance acoustical sensors and continuously strives for improving sensor performance, reliability, manufacturability and lifetime for products used in Ocean environments with high requirements to corrosion, thermal, pressure and shock & vibration. You will be doing small feasibilities studies for material selection, acoustical performance or manufacturing evaluation to mitigate risk during the development process.
Key responsibilities:
- Mechanical architecture and concept development
- Material selection and qualification (metals, thermoplastics and elastomers)
- Prototyping techniques and manufacturing methods
- Transducer acoustic simulation using internal MATLAB tools and FEM (ANSYS).
- Transducer and hydrophones array development for hydrography- and defense sonars
- Mechanical detailed design of plastic and metal components for sensor products that includes electronics and electro-mechanics e.g. subsea navigation fiber optic gyro systems.
- 3D/2D CAD design (we use SolidWorks)
- Designing robust mechanical solutions (tolerance calculations and robust design principles)
- Production, service and manufacturing process understanding (DFA, DFM, DFS)
- Structured problem-solving methods
- Documentation
Job Requirements:
- Experience with 3D/2D CAD, preferably SolidWorks
- You have documented experience with Finite Element Modelling (ANSYS)
- You are structured, systematic and quality-minded
- Drive and ability to complete task to agreed deadline
- Enjoy working both independently and in teams
- Proactive, positive and supporting personality
Educational level:
You have an education as a Mechanical Engineer (M.Sc.)
Language skills:
Fluent in Danish and English to a professional level
Nice to have:
- Transducer design experience from similar industry would be an advantage.
- Background with design and corrosion free materials from the offshore industry.
